On Monday 26 October 2026, Pacific Spirit MedVents delivered Emergency Aid Skills training (Level 3 in the Outdoor Adventure Skills program) to the St. Helen’s Scout Troop. The session was informative and hands-on, with a balance of theory and practice and the emphasis on safe, evidence-based procedures.
The goal was to equip scouts with the knowledge and hands-on skills to assess and manage common emergencies until professional help arrives.
MedVents covered first aid, CPR and use of automated external defibrillator (AED), medical emergencies and more, and finished the evening with a short quiz to review key concepts and rehash everything covered across the evening.
St. Helen’s scouts demonstrated improved confidence in practical skills such as chest compressions, AED use and bandaging. The scouts were engaged, asked thoughtful questions and performed well in scenario tasks.
A big thanks to the St. Helen’s Scout Troop for their enthusiasm and to the MedVents for leading the session.
